I currently work at Primary Children's Hospital as a Certified Child Life Specialist in the Outpatient Lab. I provide developmentally appropriate procedural preparation and support for blood draws and a variety of medical procedures throughout the hospital (i.e. Outpatient Clinics, Same Day Surgery, etc.). I facilitate the normal growth and development of pediatric patients through normalization and medical play, provide support and education for families newly diagnosed with diabetes in the Outpatient Clinics, and provide staff education and presentations for phlebotomy staff and supervisors at PCH and offsite locations. While I have worked as a Child Life Specialist at Intermountain Healthcare, I am proud of many accomplishments. I have been a part of several committees in my time here (holidays, team building, Adaptive Care, etc.), given several presentations both on campus and off, have created impactful ideas, have served as a practicum and internship supervisor, and was even nominated for the 2022 Maya Rimal Award. Overall, I believe I have made a positive impact while working at Primary Children's Hospital as a CCLS in the Outpatient Lab. I am passionate about the field of Child Life, working to improve and grow in whatever ways I can and I am excited about what the future holds!
